My name is John, and I’m proud to run this family-owned motel here in Lismore. While my family and I are new to running a motel in Australia, we’re no strangers to hospitality. We’ve spent many years overseas managing small accommodation businesses, so providing guests with a clean, comfortable, and friendly stay is second nature to us.

I don’t come from a typical hotel-school background, but I do have plenty of hands-on experience in business management and customer service, plus years working directly with travellers. That experience gives me a practical approach and a genuine care for every guest who walks through our doors.

As a family, sincerity and consistency mean a lot to us. We believe in creating welcoming spaces and we love being part of the Lismore community. You’ll find that cleanliness, good value, and personal service are at the heart of how we run Dawson Motel.

When my family and I first saw Dawson Motel, we were drawn to its peaceful setting and saw real potential to refresh and improve the property.
